Abstract

The phenomenon of the mother blog illustrates that motherhood is made into a commodity with the help of aesthetic practices (Reckwitz 2003), in the sense of a “new spirit of capitalism” (Boltanski / Chiapello 2006). Using the example of production, dissemination and commodification of the 'interesting', the following article deals with the digital and aesthetic practices of mother bloggers from a work ethnography perspective - a practice that seems to be an attractive job for many mothers, especially in the field of creative industries.
