As more and more anthropologists turn to multimodal/more-than-textual forms and formats of research communication, the time is ripe to think in fresh ways about how we design our research artefacts or outputs. In this commentary, I will argue that doing so can help us to activate more of the potential of our anthropology. But to truly take advantage of this potential, we must redefine the way we assess the academic value of such artefacts.
